African Mud cloth is a painstaking process that takes up to a week to complete. Men and women participate in this process which to me is so special. The men usually weave the fabric on a loom and the women would decorate them with African symbols. The dye is made from leaves and barks and fermented in mud. No synthetic dyes are used. Organic all the way! The fabric is made in strips and then sewn together. This you can see is an authentic piece.

Here is a lovely one from my Mud Cloth Gallery. This piece is done in gold, black, brown and white. In keeping with the natural process of making this fabric; I have left the edges unfinished. This also adds that special character to your wall piece. I have added loops to the back of this piece so that you can use a dowel to display your piece of art.

Measurements: 67" Long X 46" Wide

Working with these fabrics gives me such a warm feeling. These mud cloth fabrics are truly works of Art.

If you wish, you can use this wall piece as a throw or a bed or table runner as well.
