Strands of Faith was inspired by the founder’s own frustrations dealing with Type 4 dry, brittle and dehydrated hair. It was also clear to her that some types of natural hair are glamorized much more than others. In 2017, Ameka Coleman received a vision from God to start her own company and utilized the power of social media to inspire and build a community to show the beauty and versatility of type 4 naturalistas. Today Strands of Faith’s Holy Grail collection features a line of products that not only provide long lasting hydration and moisture for days at a time but also help to reduce the amount of time it takes to wash hair each week. Their products are non-toxic, free of sulfates, silicones, parabens, mineral oil, phthalates and paraffins. Click here to shop.

😍😍😍⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #Repost @curlsidoadore_ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Huge shout out to @strandsoffaith , who gave me the opportunity to collab with them. I was able to try out their pre-released shampoo bar, leave-in conditioner, and curling custard. My promise to the natural lovers is to give you transparency and I truly loved their products. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Has anyone ever used a shampoo bar before? This was my first time, and when I went to deep condition my hair afterwards, my conditioner soaked right into my hair and that doesn’t happen easily. Maybe I had some build up? Idk, but personally I’m really impressed with the shampoo bar. The leave-in and custard left my hair smelling good, feeling soft with no crunch, and had a good hold to it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Plus hubby kept complimenting me on how good my hair smelled. 😋 That’s an extra win 💁🏽‍♀️⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Text “SOF” to 555888 to sign up for text alerts for the launch of our 2 new products!🙌🏽⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Our Shampoo Bar and Styling Custard will be available for Pre-Order on 7/15. Text and email subscribers will get first dibs before this date. Make sure you’re signed up to receive alerts! 💚⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Who are we? A Faith based Beauty Company who caters to our customers by providing quality products and great service because you deserve the best!😃 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #naturalhairloves #curlyhair #washngo #naturalhaircommunity #lengthcheck #naturalhairstyles #deepconditioning #melanin #curlynaturalhair #naturalhairrocks #curlspoppin #curlyhairproducts #strandsoffaith⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #christianentrepreneur #frolife #4cnaturalhair #naturalhairblogger #kinksandcoils #4chairstyles #3chair #type3hair #howtonaturalhair #twistouts #curlspoppin #curlyafro #curlybeauties #3bhair

Wonder Curl was born out of pure frustration. Owner Scarlett Rocourt was using 4 to 5 different products to tame her naturally thick and frizzy curly locks and even so, only achieving temporary smooth definition. She set out to make the perfect hair gel and the Get Set hair jelly was the result. Wonder Curl was built on the lofty idea that a hair gel should provide smooth definition to curls of all textures. The formula is designed to be humidity proof, dry weightless and last for several days. The company’s product line has expanded to include a shampoo bar and a fabulous moisturizer, among other offerings. Click here to shop.

Taliah Waajid was the first to offer a complete line of natural, chemical-free hair care products. The products were formulated for consumers that chose not to use chemicals on their hair. The Taliah Waajid Brand now offers 4 collections of healthy hair product lines that range from Natural Hair Care, Curly Hair Care, Protective Styling and Children’s Hair Care. In 2018, they launched a men’s line, Uncle Jimmy Products, which is named after the founder’s favorite uncle. Click here to shop.

  1. While these brands may be well known in your area, they are most certainly NOT THE TOP 9 BLACK OWNED BRANDS in this industry! What numbers were researched?? Who did the research?? This is overly offensive to the owners of the actual top 9 black owned hair care brands. It’s definitely not the 9 listed and it’s far too easy to prove that. Give props to those who have earned them and been in the hair care industry long enough to actually do so!!

    • The title I see says “9 First Rate Black Hair Brands.” I don’t see anywhere that says “Top 9″… and why not give exposure to good quality hair care brands that may be less known?
