Blogger Asks Florida to Support Black Owned Grocery Store

Blogger The Hungry Black Man is asking South Florida to support its only full-service Black-owned grocery store by purchasing all of their holiday dinner essentials at the store.

Dubbed The George Washington Carver Project, The Hungry Black Man has put out a mass appeal in support of Stiles Farmer's Market, the only Black-owned grocery store in Florida and the only store which sources its produce from Black-owned farms. The Hungry Black Man estimates that with full community support during the month of November alone, the owners of Stiles with receive a much needed financial boost that can help them expand and provide more job opportunities.

He writes:

Often, addressing many issues within the Black Food ecosystem is difficult due to a lack of capital.  To celebrate Thanksgiving, The Hungry Black Man is launching an initiative to support the ONLY Black Owned full service grocer, while also assisting Black Farmers.  Coined The George Washington Carver Project, this initiative seeks to attract folk to shop at Stiles Farmer’s Market for ALL your Thanksgiving needs.  This will allow the ONLY BLACK OWNED FULL SERVICE GROCERY STORE IN FLORIDA to sell more of their products – which are sourced from BLACK OWNED FARMS – this holiday season, allowing them to expand.
