#Day2 Meet BONNI: Eco-friendly toothbrushes & Apple accessories retailer

#WeBuyBlack28 — Day 2

BONNI

BONNI believes that its duty is to bring about change to preserve the planet. The company sells eco-friendly Apple accessories and toothbrushes. For each product purchased, it donates toothbrushes to someone in need. BONNI invites potential customers to join its movement of changing consumption habits and promoting ecological and innovative products and ideas.

Brief History

Aristote Matshoko got the idea to start BONNI when he volunteered abroad. He noticed that the organization where he worked had a large demand for toothbrushes but could not afford them due to limited means. That’s when he decided that he would give away toothbrushes each time a BONNI product is sold. According to its website, “Boni” means “What’s up?” in Lingala, the national language of the Democratic Republic of Congo. “This question is one of the first questions we ask when we meet people. Just like brushing our teeth is one of the first routines of the day, hence the name BONNI.”

Toothbrushes

BONNI’s toothbrushes are made of bamboo with nylon bristles and can be purchased individually, as a kit or on a subscription basis. Donated toothbrushes are sent to the Point d’Eau Lausanne Foundation in Switzerland and Dental-Aid International in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Apple Accessories

BONNI’s Apple accessories come in bamboo and black ash. The company sells MacBook covers and cases and iPhone cases. These products are made in the U.S. and ship directly from the U.S. ( You can now buy these accessories on our platform. Click here) BONNI

Goals

As an ecologically and socially responsible company, BONNI wants to reduce the more than 5 billion plastic toothbrushes produced each year that end up in oceans and landfills. The company sells biodegradable products while donating to those in need, hoping to inspire others to do the same. Click here to read more, join the movement and BUY BONNI.
