Kellis is buying a farm! Now with the growing trend of minimalism being popularized in LA, Kelis is doing her part in sustainable agriculture. She is selling the multi-million dollar mansion that she shares with her husband, Mike Mora and two sons, Knight age 8 (with Nas) and Shepard (with husband) age 2.
Many people are unaware of the fact that Kelis studied culinary arts at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris. This is where she developed a desire to bring the freshest and healthiest food to the table.
Her primary reason for purchasing a farm as stated in Architectural Digest, is to have more control over what her family consumes. This is particularly important for African American households as we are a group of people who rely on other groups of people to feed us (I.E. lack of grocery store ownerships). Black people have always been a farming people and slowly but surely we are returning back to our agricultural roots. Kuddos to Kelis and her family. Everyone with the ability follow suit, absolutely should.
