Enjoy comfort (100% pre-shrunk cotton) and culture with ICBC t-shirt. The shirt is identity wear- displaying the concepts of collective work, responsibility, self-determination and cooperative economics. These shirts were designed by Intentional Community Building Collective (ICBC) to further the narrative through fashion that these concepts are essential strands in the social fabric of the Black community.
The collective was born over a dinner table conversation over five years ago. The concept of three families enjoying the convenience of simply walking next door after Sunday dinner has now evolved into a partnership with nine families. The core mission of ICBC is to create a cohousing community in West Baltimore of community centric families drawing on the philosophies of our African ancestors and Indigenous American predecessors using advanced technology to create a modern village. However it is understood that in order to accomplish this goal there must be enterprise development and community engagement. The shirts are a revenue generating activity for the collective to help fund the Sunday Dinner House project which is the first step in a strategic plan to cultivate the development of cohousing.
The house would serve as an intimate art, social and spiritual community gathering space. Access to space is an important element of cultivating a thriving community. We have raised $7500 thus far to fund the acquisition and rehabilitation of a property for this purpose. Profits from shirt sells will be used toward this end.
