DON'T DISPLACE apparel is an expressive reaction to the gentrifying communities around us.

While we appreciate the benefits of gentrification, we aim to bring awareness to its disadvantages, mainly the forced displacement of long-time residents and local businesses.

Our inaugural design, “MAKE YOUR CITY GREAT AGAIN,” references the familiar slogan made popular by this circus we euphemistically call American politics.  It’s a shout out to a time when we knew our neighbors, their kids, and their kids’ kids; when .50 cent bodega coffee was good enough; and when block parties could go all night without the cops being called for noise complaints.  Back to a time when our neighborhoods were... pretty great.
