The Lest We Forget aka The Ancestors Cap
This unique and exclusive hat designed by our founder, Eric Majette, Jr., is an intentional historical piece.
The concept behind it is, in African culture, it is said when you speak an ancestor’s name, you keep them alive. So we are calling them by name and keeping their presence in and on our minds.
Inside the cap is lined with Booker T. Washington’s signature on the inside strips.
Rosa Park’s, Marcus Garvey’s, Martin Luther King, Jr.’s and Malcolm X’s actual signatures stitched on them.
And Huey P. Newton under the lid from To Be Black in America is to be Revolutionaryposter.
All signatures are the actual signatures of the ancestor vectorized taken from documents in our world class collection.
