Legend has it that in the South African region known as the Great Karoo, there is a community of Merpeople. From underground out to the vast Cape of Good Hope, lives this fascinating species, who’ve been around since the Jurassic Period. They are the first ones to swim on the Earth, and still thrive today on all coasts around Africa.
They consist of families of all shades of brown, ages, shapes, sizes, who live off the coast around the continent of Africa. From the tip of Tunisia, to the shores of Seychelles, you can then slide over to Madagascar, and wave hi to mermaids that love to spend a spell with the dolphins who surf, and dwell! Up back to Mozambique, and the breathtaking region of Vamizi coral reef. Sierra Leone is always a favorite place to eat, oysters, snails, and lobster are a real treat! These are just some of the places that our family is from with tons of stories to tell from each, and every one.
Preservation is also important, starting with the Cape alone there is so much to take of. Angel Sharks, Guitarfish, Hagfish, Orca’s, Penguin’s, Great White Shark, and the Puffadder shyshark. The most ancient shark, Broadnose 7 gill shark from the Jurassic Period dating back 200 million years ago, dwells in the Cape. They are 1 of 2 species that have 7 gills! The other is it’s relative the Sharpnose 7 gill. the Red Roman who mature’s in the kelp forest is in danger of overfishing via spearfishing in False Bay. Right now their conservations status is nearly threatened. Because of this the mermaids are taking the lead the way when it comes to preserving coral reefs, marine life, and oceans. Our heroes and heroines work is never done. Located on Dias beach they take pride in taking care of marine, and plant life.
Along with that pride, comes the duty of taking care of ones well being. Mental, physical, and spiritual health are important. Life is not easy on their big continent or around the world. That’s why it’s important to have confidence within one self take time to grow, listen, absorb, then meditate on the environment, and events that surround them.
Setting healthy boundaries for themselves, and most importantly others helps keep them safe, to prosper in an ever changing world. Maintaining a healthy diet of vegetables, proteins, and seafood allows them to be quick on their fins.
