If you asked me about what inspires my many diverse paintings, the journey would begin in my native Tanzania. As a young child, I can remember being distracted from homework by my Uncle who possessed skills in art. Supported and encouraged by family, I began to study and create art. Kanga patterns, Masai warriors, chungu, and shanga (beads) are just some of the images that can be seen.

The deep connection I feel to my homeland can clearly be felt. At the same time, I am able to show viewers the deep connection to my new home.

Swirling colors and shapes are just some of the things you will find in the abstract artworks I create. As these works are viewed many things can be found, some based in reality and some from the imagination. The question is what will you see?

I am very excited to introduce you to my new lamp designs. These lamps are handcrafted and painted by me, and therefore each receives quite a lot of undivided development in the detail as well as design. The patterns and designs on each lamp are 100% individual , and are not repeated on another lamp. As a fine artist this project is present me with a new canvas on which to present my paintings as well as the creative challenge of designing them. Art can be functional as well as beautiful while on display.

These lamps are made out of PVC, and while the process to construct them is quite time consuming I do enjoy each step of their creation. While I am in the beginning stages of this shop set up, sadly custom requests are not available, but are something I am working towards.
