The Willow tree bark contains the glucoside salicin, an effective pain killer. Willow is a excellent nerve sedative. It does not have the side effects of aspirin, such as loss of blood through stomach walls each time it is ingested.
Willow is used as a first aid plant for the outdoors man. It has strong benign antiseptic abilities for infected wounds. Its also used to reduce fevers, inflammation, an excellent source of magnesium, helps to calm nerves, useful in all stomach problems, especially sour stomach & heartburn, mostly used for minor aches & pains.
